mission to transform mental health care in Africa

ensuring it is accessible, equitable, and inclusive for all.

About Our Company

Welcome to our Mental Health Reforms Network! We are honored to convene this mental health reform consortium in Africa, working towards creating a society that values and prioritizes mental health care for all Africans.

As a Network, we are committed to advocating for policies that promote access to quality mental health care, address the mental health workforce shortage, promote mental health parity, and reduce stigma and discrimination. By working together and amplifying our collective voices, we can create a more equitable and inclusive mental health system for all Africans.

Our Mission

We advocate for policies that increase access to mental health care, including telehealth services, community-based care, and integrated care models. Our goal is to ensure broader accessibility for all.

Our Vision

We support policies that develop the mental health workforce, addressing the shortage of professionals such as psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers and ensuring an adequate supply of professionals in Africa.

The Problem

We advocate for policies that ensure mental health care is covered equally with physical health care. This includes the strict enforcement of existing parity laws for comprehensive and fair coverage.

Collaborative Efforts for Meaningful Change

By partnering with organizations, policymakers, and communities, we drive national and regional mental health reforms, fostering meaningful improvements in mental health care across Africa.

Commitment to Transparency and Accountability

We maintain transparency and accountability in our advocacy work by regularly sharing progress updates and welcoming feedback from our members and supporters.

Our Services

At AMHROA, we are dedicated to improving mental health care across Africa by focusing on three key areas: policy reform, advocacy, and raising awareness. Our efforts aim to expand access to quality mental health care for all Africans, regardless of their socioeconomic status or background. Our long-term vision is to bridge the gap between mental and physical health, creating a more integrated approach to healthcare. By closing this divide, we can significantly improve health outcomes throughout the continent—addressing one of the most pressing health and development challenges facing African nations today.
